Kerala PSC groups every post that asks for an SSLC (10th standard) qualification into a single 10th Level stream. One Common Preliminary Examination screens all applicants, and those who clear it sit a Main Examination for the specific post they applied for.
This is the largest stream the Commission runs. Last Grade Servants (LGS) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) draw the most applicants by a wide margin, but the same qualification covers Office Attendant, Village Field Assistant, Driver, Watchman, Peon, Typist and most of the technical and ITI-based trades.
Everything we hold for this stream is collected here — previous question papers, model question sets, syllabus notes and timed mock tests, most of them in Malayalam.
The 10th level stream runs in two stages.
- Common Preliminary Examination — an objective screening test common to every post in the stream. A shortlist is published from it; only those on it move on.
- Main Examination — post-specific, and the stage that decides the ranked list.
Questions are objective and cover general knowledge, current affairs, simple arithmetic and mental ability, Malayalam and English. Negative marking applies. Some posts add a practical or physical test after the written stage — driving tests for Driver posts, trade tests for ITI-based posts.
Marks, duration and the exact syllabus are set per notification, so always check the Category Number you applied under against the Commission’s own notification before you prepare.
